Dorry Kordahi | Managing Director DKM Blue, Co-owner Swanky Socks & Owner of Multiple Businesses

I am very excited to bring to you an interview with Australian based Dorry Kordahi. Author of Win Big Risk Small, with corporate apparel, workwear and fashion companies and recently a sock brand forming part of his businesses, I wanted to know how Dorry feels about his own personal style.

Dorry clearly has a natural talent for creating success through his careful planning and proven strategies. If you haven’t heard of Dorry, his story is incredibly interesting and inspiring, having come from a humble start and pushing through life with determination to make his first business a roaring success.

Now an accomplished entrepreneur, Dorry has kindly given me some of his time to tell us what clothes and style mean to him...

  1. How would you describe your occupation and what does it involve?

I’m managing director of Dkm Blue, a leading marketing and merchandise business, as well as co-owner of Swanky Socks and various other companies. I’m an all rounder, everyday is  different and it involves me juggling many different parts of the business which keeps me on my toes.

  2. Describe your fashion style to me – what do you like to wear, what do you never wear? Why?

Over time I’ve learnt to keep my wardrobe simple. I love my jeans and a tee and I’m pretty consistent with it. I have a habit of buying lots of the same garments. There are a lot of black, white and navy colours in my wardrobe. I would never wear baggy clothes, I just don’t find it flattering.

  3. Do you have a different style for work and home? Why?

No. I would say I’m very consistent with my look, I like to feel comfortable in what I wear. I’m not the suit sort of guy.

  4. What advice can you give to someone who feels they have no style or feels they are just stuck in a cycle of no identity?

Style is expressing yourself through what you wear. In life you need to be consistent, consistency builds peoples views of who you are,  what you stand for or how they visually see you.

  5. Who’s your style icon and why?

I would have to say David Beckham. He owns his look and expresses it through his clothes. Always projects confidence in any outfit he wears.

  6. Give me a quote to inspire someone who needs an injection of motivation to find themselves.

The thing I have learnt in life, is that you don’t need to wear the most expensive clothes to show a level of class in society. Fit in life, with what you are comfortable in. Your worth and class is in your character as a person.
